BJMin101.com - BJ Min's blog about how to discover and live your dreams!

First of all, let me tell you why you should analyze your Internet marketing results. If you don’t know what is making you money, which techniques are successful and which tools bring you traffic, you might be losing time on activities that are useless for your business.

One of the best ways to analyze your online business results, is the Pareto principle, or 80-20 rule. This principle states that 20% of your work will bring you 80% of your results. 20% of your salesforce makes 80% of the sales. 20% of your traffic sources bring you 80% of your visitors. 20% of your products account for 80% of the sales.

Your goal is to identify the 20% of your Internet marketing efforts that bring 80% of the traffic to your site and result in sales. Once you do this analysis for your business, you might be surprised that only 20% of your efforts give big results.

I personally keep a monthly spreadsheet with all of the clicks and hits to my website – where they came from and how much each of them cost me. After you collect this information, you will be able to identify the best marketing techniques for your business.

Then in the next month you should focus 80% of your efforts, time and money in these activities. It doesn’t mean that you should stop everything else, because it still brings you 20% of the profits.

The point is to not spread yourself too thin and prioritize the marketing activities which are actually the most profitable.

Don’t try to do everything – then you get nothing done. Laser focus on the activities that bring you results to maximize your income.

In this post I decided to share the lessons I have learned in the past...
